These are the walls of the Refined Estate. The wood on the lower half section has had a layer of glue produced by boiling Amur Maple bark painted on it, which makes it exceedingly resistant to wind, rain, and insect infestation. Its load-bearing capacities are also quite impressive, resisting collapse even when large stones roll down from the mountains and strike them.
